I’m starting a rating system which is obviously not going to be flawless. For one thing Indian movies shall be compared against other Indian movies, not other English movies.

Now to explain why it got a 4. The content of the movie was not new however the way it was laid out was definately different as far as Hindi movies go. Music was good however A.R. Rahman has somewhat lost his touch. Too much synthesization. First 2 hrs were awesome. Great acting esp. by Abhishek, Rani and Ajay Devgan. Entirely in character. All fight scenes realistic. Vivek was as usual the typical chocolate hero. Except in this movie that was precisely the role he had to potray. As the clueless, awaragard. So worked out great. I think this is also the first movie in which I’ve been able to stand Kareena Kapoor. She can actually act. Stayed in character and was actually fully covered throughout. Esha Deol… well she was what she was supposed to be I guess. A pretty face. Part of her story was a little strange in the sense there didnt seem much point to it. Eitherways like I said first 2 hrs were great, then… it became a little a typical. Actually very typical. But that was expected. Mani Ratnam had meant it to be a commercial flick not an art film. I reccommend it.

Ami brought home two grey, green eyed kittens today which were nearly named Jade, wolfy, pebbles, cheetarah, tasha n so on… However they have been returned to the vet for reasons I shall not state. Quite sad. I pretty much fell in love with em. Have some pics of one of em which shall post soon. This one was quite insane. Literally climbed up my leg like a squirrel and perched on my shoulder. Also went to sleep in my lap after climing over the back of the chair. Waited for me to stop laughing and gave me this patient look before it rolled up again. Thanks to everyone for the name suggestions though.

—The Blood Countess [El Diablo]: I know I may sound demented but personally this was one of the most enjoyable reads today. Gave me the shivers.

—Underground Media Revolution: Pakistan based site. I found some nice, fresh mp3’s. Pretty good quality.

—Pakistani band making music for “Spiderman 2″ [ejunooni]: Adds to the hype. I’m going to be seeing it Wednesday 9:30 p.m. with some friends. Holler (if you’re someone I know personally, grin) if you wanna come along.

I am a bad person. Very bad. Could not make it to a getogether I had already confirmed for today. eek. Major apology going out to Sana and she shall be taken to visit future bakery and La Paloma when I can next get hold of her downtown. Cross my heart and hope to die. Now please forgive me.
