Just saw the 5th episode of this season. Dealt with a kid who could run fast quite like Clark. I presumed he was just another entity dreamt up for the sole purpose of Smallville, however towards the end when it becomes apparent he could even run faster than Superman, got me thinking. Looked up some info. on The Flash and turns out the kid was meant to potray one of the flash family, Bart Allen. Speed was apparently an inherited trait in varying proportions. But then I guess a lot of the superhero traits were in a sense. Superman being an obvious exception since he was an alien in the first place.

Owls still prowling the neighbourhood. The dawn barely creeping up. And considering the overcast weather, dawn will pretty much be nonexistant for the next few hours. She pokes her head out from under the covers and sighs. Grabage day. A quick calculation in her head affirms the sad fact… Its her turn. She stumbles out of bed. Throws on a sweatshirt… looks over at the jacket and makes a quick decision between summing up the energy to don the jacket or forget about it. Exits room minus jacket.
Opens backdoor and looks outside shrouded in gloom. Wonders if this is the day… is this day she will have to face… the Racoon. Or will it have proceeded to hibernate, migrate or whatever it is that racoons do in the winter. Fiddles with the back door latch and vaguely registers the fact that this needs fixing, otherwise one of these days it wont open. Proceeds into alleyway at the side of the house. Looks back at the door into the backyard. Considers whether to shut it or leave it open, all based on the presumption that the door at the opposite end is locked from the INSIDE of the alleyway. Proceeds to shut backyard door to prevent herself the pain of having to come back and close it… Proceeds to door at the other end… strange… the door isn’t locked… but… its closed… which could mean only one thing….. shes friggin locked in. Frantically runs back to the backyard door to try opening it… but no didnt she just make the observation that considering the state of the lock… sigh… 20 minutes pass… She hits around a few things, bangs on the door, but not too loud so as to not wake the neighbours (point of banging being then?) Ah well around 6:20 neighbour leaving for work comes to check… only after ofcourse she reassures him that shes not a racoon.
She then proceeds to drop her dad off to the Train station, come home and go to sleep, forgetting however to set her alarm clock…. consequently awakens at 3…. which makes one wonder, if one was capable of sleeping in complete silence… how many hrs at a stretch would one sleep?

His name is Michael Theodore and he plays a mix of Rock and Roll, and Blues.

Hope to see you all there and Happy Halloween
The Return of Merlin
by Deepak Chopra
Very dramatic. A little overly so at times. However moves continously with the occasional contemplatetion on life as an illusion. Again reminded me of The Chronicles of Narnia although for reasons different from my previous recent observation. The concept of worlds within worlds and the past, present and future existing simultaneously. Actually come to think of it I think that was probably a flight of fancy on the part of C.S. Lewis. I mean, considering his books were in a sense supposed to mimic biblical teachings, the concept of reincarnation definately did not come into play. I think he was trying to aim for the afterlife and ended up with several worlds. Sort of a meandering.
Eitherways as far as this book goes, sort of like The Alchemist except more complicated and the woman in the green felt hat kept reminded me of Prof. Minerva McGonagall from Harry Potter. Chopra’s take on what alchemy is and weaving the holy grail and chalice into it somehow.
Currently have restarted The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Feel like kicking myself for not picking it up earlier. Tis one of those books which makes u laugh out loud and very obvious British humour. Ah the sarcasm. I love sarcasm. A cross between watching Spaceballs and reading Catch 22.
Which reminds me DVDs I’d like to own (psst.. dont have a DVD player but why should that stop me. grin):
-Spaceballs
-Monty Python and the Holy Grail
-Forest Gump
-Mary Poppins
-Ice Age
-Shrek 2
….
In other news…. apparently the biggest topics these days are Pitbull ban, Barbie’s makeover and a third one I forgot because I was two days late in writing in this post. Tough luck.
