Following are two articles. The first one is written by a graduate student at U of T and deals with the current social setup in Saudi. Very well written and uses actual examples with an understanding of Islam.
The second article is written by a journalist for The Globe and Mail. I’ve included the text since it might be only archived for a certain amount of time. This article seems to be written by a 10 year old submitting a descriptive piece for a creative writing class. In short, apparently saying something “sucks” is a very erudite and well thought out argument worthy of being using as a reference source. (<- Notice sarcasm). Although I'm not a niqabi, I do believe everyone has the right to wear what they want and under no circumstances see how it could be offensive. It's not like they've got a swastika embroidered on thier back.

The box. Is empty. …

Just found it funny. Came across the first part with women substitued for men around a few weeks ago. It seemed a little weird when I read it. Then this showed up. Now I know why. Women dont climb trees, in general that is. I think I did my share of wall walking and tree climbing when I was a kid.
Apples and Wine [Fwd: Moneeza A.]
Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just take the rotten apples from the ground that aren’t as good, but easy……. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they’re amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who’s brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Share this with other Women who are good apples, even those who have already been picked!
Now Men…
Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it’s up to women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
